ONE MAN’S JOURNEY, GRACE FOR THE BATTLE OF MY LIFE
There is always hope. There have been many medical advances when it comes to cancer, so we don’t have to despair at a diagnosis. But when all human effort ends, do you have hope for journey’s end? Find out where my strength came from as I battled and continue to battle stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Beside Still Waters
Words of comfort for the soul from the prince of preachers, C. H. Spurgeon.
This was a great resource as I was in the darkest part of my battle.

The Lord is my Shepherd
I was a cast sheep, upside down, ready to give up all when I picked up this amazing book by Robert J. Morgan. It became part of my soul as I reached out for the Good Shepherd, Jesus, to turn my world right-side-up and make sense out of it all.

The Red Sea Rules
When life gets you into a corner, you need rules to get you through. God is in control of even the most dire circumstances.
After reading The Lord is my Shepherd, I had to read another one of Robert J. Morgan’s books. I found this book and was incredibly encouraged.

The practice of the presence of God
I came home from the hospital after 22 hours of surgery, and 5 weeks in the hospital. I needed the presence of God in my life. The monk, Brother Lawrence, mystified his fellow brothers by getting to know God in a personal way.
I loved the writings of Brother Lawrence, but the commentary on his life, not so much.
Take this one with a grain of salt, but it is very deep.

A Path through suffering
by Elizabeth Elliot
I could really relate to the deep thoughts Elizabeth Elliot had in telling stories from her life. She is a shining example of godliness in the light of suffering. I was encouraged and blessed by this book and I know you will be also.

Suffering is never for nothing
When Elizabeth Elliot speaks on suffering it is from a depth few ever visit. As my husband’s caretaker, I saw this book and recommended it to a friend. I know you will be blessed as you go through life’s difficulties by these stories of courage in the midst of tragedy with the God who is over it all.
