What your gift supports
Your gift helps us to reach out to those who are suffering through a cancer diagnosis or other life-threatening illness and their caregivers. We provide spiritual support through Solace groups, an innovative ministry reaching people who would usually be left behind. Many cancer patients feel lost in the beginning of a diagnosis. When they come to Solace, they find people who have also been diagnosed or are a caregiver and can relate to what they are going through. We “get it,” and they find peace as we point them to Jesus through His Word. We use The Bible, along with Grace for the Battle, a book by Steve Marquez, and a study guide in Solace. Our goal is to have the option to provide materials at a reduced rate or free of charge to the cancer patient.
The Future
We know that spiritual and emotional support is necessary to a person’s healing and hope. But there are also physical needs. We are looking forward to the day when we can provide for those needs as well. At the end of each Solace group, which lasts 11 weeks, we will put together Care Bags for Chemo Patients, where we lovingly put together bags of necessities such as hand sanitizer, disinfection wipes, a bottle of water, a notepad and paper, a stress ball, lap blankets, and more! We are looking to the future where we will provide even more.
We are also praying about and in the beginning stages of new devotionals, and even a marriage ministry for married couples who are dealing with the stress of a cancer or other life-threatening illness diagnoses.
